PASADENA, California (Oct. 24, 2025) — Six months after it was put into service, a Energy Storage Project powered by BYD Energy Storage, has been ranked first in reliability and availability among all stand-alone energy storage projects in California, according to the California Independent System Operator (CAISO).
This Energy Storage Project is a 100 MW/400 MWh project located in Central California. The project provides enough energy to power more than 100,000 homes for up to four hours daily during peak electrical demand. The project plays a key role in increasing energy resilience, enhancing the state’s power supply, and reducing the risk of blackouts in California.
At the heart of the project is the BYD MC Cube energy storage system, with ultra-high safety and a high IP (Ingress Protection) rating. The MC Cube adopts CTS (Cell-To-System) technology to integrate blade batteries directly into the energy storage system, which greatly improves space utilization. The solution features easy installation, faster maintenance, flexible augmentation, convenient transportation, modular design, and cluster-level safety protection. Its energy storage products meet the high standards of energy infrastructure in the North American market with excellent performance and reliable quality assurance.
